Positions upper bearing housing in upper gear housing - 3.8 Litre

FOR 1972 100 and 120 HP with "S" model suffix;
1972-76 165 HP; 1973-77 140 HP; 1974-77 170, 175, 190 HP

For all stern drive models listed. A close tolerance measurement must be maintained between the flat on the top of the pinion gear and the shoulder on the bearing housing. This tool quickly determines the correct shim needed to maintain this tolerance. A properly shimmed housing, together with an accurately shimmed ball gear shaft, guarantees correct engagement of the gears.
